Zimbabwe lose first T20
Pakistan beat Zimbabwe by 11 runs in the first T20 match of the series.
In the match played at Harare Sports Club, Pakistan scored 149 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. For Pakistan, Mohammad Rizwan played an innings of 82 runs and remained unbeaten. Pakistan’s 6 batsmen could not enter the double figure.
Earlier, Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bowl. For Pakistan, openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan started the innings, but Babar Azam was dismissed for two runs.
Fakhruzzaman and Danish Aziz scored 15 runs each for Pakistan. Zimbabwe’s Wesley Madhivire and Luke Jongwe took two wickets each, while Richard N. Grava and Blessing Mozarabani took one wicket each.
In pursuit of the target, Craig Aaron (34) and Luke Jongwe (30) stood out for Zimbabwe, while Usman Qadir (3), Mohammad Hasnain (2) and Hafeez (1) were the only Pakistani bowlers.
With this victory, Pakistan has a one nil lead in the three-match T20 series.
