YouTuber, who made prank videos in the US, was shot dead as a robber
NASHWELL: A young YouTuber who shot a prank video of a robbery in the US state of Tennessee was shot dead by a citizen as a real robber.
According to the British Broadcasting Corporation, Timothy Wilkes, a YouTuber in Nashville, Tennessee, was threatening people outside a family park with two large knives while his friend was filming a 23-year-old man on YouTube. He was considered a real robber and was shot dead.
The young man who shot YouTuber told police that he had no idea it was a funny video being recorded, I just saw a knife-wielding man looting people and now he was approaching me. Fired in self-defense.
A friend of yours also told the police that we were making a prank video for YouTube in which we were scaring people by showing them knives and recording their reactions and then telling them the truth. Police did not make any arrests at the scene.
YouTube had a policy to prevent such incidents, but such incidents could not be stopped. Experts call for ban on such dangerous jokes.
