Turkish President ready for joint operation in Iraq
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has hinted at a joint operation in Iraq against the PKK.
Speaking to the media after Friday prayers at a historic mosque in Istanbul, the Turkish president said “we can conduct a joint counter-terrorism operation in Iraq.”
He hinted at an operation against the PKK in Iraq’s Sinjar region, but did not announce a final date for any such operation in the near future.
He said that Turkey is always ready for a counter-terrorism operation with Iraq and does not openly announce any such operation.
Strongly rejecting the notion of early elections, the Turkish President said in no uncertain terms that there is no possibility of early elections.
He made it clear that the elections would be held on time in June 2023. Regarding the corona vaccine, the Turkish president said that the second batch of vaccines would arrive today.
