The Green Caps went abroad 3 years later
The Green Caps went on to win their first match in 3 years abroad.
The team won a Test in 3 days for the first time in 9 years. Pakistan won the innings against Zimbabwe by an innings and 116 runs in Harare. Earlier, the national team had won the Dubai Test against England in 2012 within 3 days.
In the recent match, pacer Hassan Ali took 5 wickets in the second innings to take the total number of wickets in the match to 9. He also managed to score 30 runs in the first innings. Ali also completed fifty wickets in the 12th match of his career, before him Omar Gul, Danish Kaneria and Pervez Sajjad had also claimed the first 50 Test wickets in 12 matches.
Spinner Yasir Shah holds the record for the fastest fifty for Pakistan. He did this feat in 9 matches. It has been 14 years since any bowler in Test cricket has taken 10 wickets in 2 consecutive matches. The last time this feat was done was by South African pacer Dale Steyn in 2007.
In Harare, Hassan Ali hit a career-best five for 36 in the second innings, a wicket he would have taken if he had taken another wicket. He had earlier bowled 10 wickets in the Rawalpindi Test against South Africa. ۔
Meanwhile, Babar Azam won his third match as Test captain and maintained his winning record at 100 per cent.
