The Chinese corona vaccine will be provided to 13 more countries as aid, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said
BEIJING: Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said the Chinese-made corona virus vaccine would be provided to 13 countries besides Pakistan as aid, with 38 more developing in the next phase. It will be extended to countries.
Mr Wang expressed these views at an official press conference in Beijing this morning on the occasion of the arrival in Islamabad of the first batch of Corona virus vaccine donated by the Chinese government to Pakistan.
He said this was the first batch of vaccines donated by China to any country.
In addition to Pakistan, China will provide vaccine aid to 13 developing countries, including Brunei, Nepal, the Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Sri Lanka, Mongolia, Palestine, Belarus, Sierra Leone and Zimbabwe. In the next phase, the vaccine will be provided to 38 other developing countries in need.
Wang Wenbin said that the supply of vaccines to Pakistan is an important part of the cooperation between China and Pakistan for the prevention and control of the epidemic. It reflects the sincere mutual friendship between China and Pakistan, which has a long and ever-strong strategic partnership.
It also reflects the joint efforts of the two developing countries to promote the vaccine as a global public product and to make vaccines available and affordable in developing countries.
