Security Council meeting on Israeli aggression, the United States came to the rescue of Israel
New York: The Security Council meeting on Israeli aggression in Gaza has been postponed due to US opposition. The meeting will now be held on Sunday.
According to details, a meeting of the Security Council was convened on Friday to consider the situation arising out of the Israeli air strikes on Gaza, but was postponed after opposition from the United States.
In this regard, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has said in his statement that the United States is not stopping the meeting, wants this meeting to be convened later, hopefully during this time diplomacy will have a chance, we are in favor of open discussion on the Middle East .
“Our position is clear that rocket attacks must stop because they are costing precious human lives,” he said.
Earlier, the United States objected to the Security Council’s proposed statement on the situation in the Palestinian territories, while Tunisia, Norway and China called on the Security Council to consider the situation arising out of Israeli airstrikes on Gaza. A meeting was requested.
According to Arab media sources, the United States will block the Security Council from issuing any statement because it believes that member states can issue a statement condemning Israel after the meeting.
