New Zealand cricket team arrives in Pakistan after 18 years
ISLAMABAD: The New Zealand cricket team has reached Pakistan after 18 years of playing a series against Pakistan and the PCB has also changed the status of the ODI series.
New Zealand cricket team arrives at Islamabad Airport from Dhaka. Upon arrival in Islamabad, the visiting team will have a quad test at a private hotel after which the players will start their training.
If the Corona Test is negative, the visiting team will be allowed to practice. The New Zealand cricket team is scheduled to play an inter-squad match on September 15.
In addition, the Pakistan Cricket Board has announced that the ODI series between Pakistan and New Zealand will not be part of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, but the series will be a bilateral series.
According to the PCB, these matches were not made part of the World Super League due to non-use of DRS in the series.
The PCB says the New Zealand team will return to Pakistan in 2023 and play a series of two Test matches and three ODIs. Both boards have decided that the ODIs played during the tour will be part of the 2023 World Cup qualifiers.
The first ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand will be played on September 17. The three ODIs of the series will be played on September 17, 19 and 21, while the five T20 Internationals will be played on September 25, 26 and 29, October 1 and 3.
The ODIs will be played in Rawalpindi while the T20 series will be played in Lahore.
