Major changes in Cricket World Cup
The next 50-over World Cup will be modeled on the 2003 World Cup format.
According to British media, the number of teams in the scheduled World Cup in 2023 is likely to be increased again to 14.
A decision in this regard is expected at the board meeting of the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday.
The ICC had limited the 2019 World Cup to 10 teams and fewer teams were objected to by ICC associate members.
The next 50-over Cricket World Cup is scheduled for 2023, with the number of teams increasing and the Super Six phase resuming.
Matches with the Super Six format will also increase, with a total of 48 matches in the 2019 World Cup, while the number will increase to 54 in the next World Cup.
