Hawks Bay decides to demolish huts
The government plans to invite private investors to build 3-star hotels and huts on Hawks Bay. In this regard, leases of 254 huts on the coast have been canceled and will be vacated and demolished. ۔
The length of this KMC strip on the beach is 5 km and its total area is about 387 acres, while the adjacent coastal area is owned by PT and Board of Revenue. On coastal land it is divided into the A, A1 and S series, and the A series includes plots that are directly in front, while the other two series are behind it.
Khalid Mehmood Sheikh, director general of the Sindh government’s public-private partnership unit, has confirmed that his unit will implement the development plan. He said the government would hire a consultant to prepare a feasibility plan for the development of the beach. He added that it was a long process and would take at least six months to prepare.
The Sindh government enlists the services of private investors for the construction of public-private partnership unit infrastructure. The modus operandi of private partnership development is different from the government’s plans to build a project at its own expense. For example, in a public-private partnership, if a motorway is built, the private company itself pays for it, which it collects by levying a toll tax on vehicles, while the government acts as a watchdog.
