Congress nullifies another of President Trump’s powers
Congress has dealt another blow to outgoing US President Donald Trump in recent weeks.
The US Congress also nullified President Donald Trump’s authority to veto defense bills.
President Trump objected to the renaming of military bases named after Confederate generals, with 80 of the 100 senators in the Republican-majority Senate voting against President Trump, while the Democrats’ majority in the House of Representatives was already 80. With 322 votes, President Trump’s veto power has been nullified.
Congress has passed a بل 740 billion defense bill for the New Year.
